February is Pet Dental Health Month

Most pet owners know that it's important to spend time exercising their pets, monitor their weight, keep their fur groomed, their nails trimmed and get them the correct vaccines but many pet owners forget that their pet's teeth also need to be taken care of.  Gingivitis and periodontal disease has become widespread in cats and dogs so in an effort to spread awareness February has been designated Pet Dental Health Month.

According to the American Veterinary Dental Society, more than 85 percent of dogs and cats show signs of oral disease by age four.
Some signs to look for are:
*Bad Breath
*Tarter buildup on the teeth
*Swollen, receding or bleeding gums
*Fractured or abscessed teeth
*Change in eating habits

If you notice any of these signs make sure to get your pet looked at by a veterinarian.  Your pet may need a professional dental cleaning.

Luckily there are some simple actions that you can take to ensure your pet has good oral health.

Check out these 10 Steps to Your Dogs Dental Care: http://www.aspca.org/pet-care/dog-care/dog-care-dental-health.aspx for tips on brushing and more information on the different signs of dental disease you may see.

While we don't do teeth cleaning here at PetCare of Duluth we can give you useful tips for brushing and some food or toy suggestions.  We will also let you know if it's time to get a professional cleaning done.

Submit a resume for the position. Your resume can be submitted through email of faxed. The resume needs to outline all of the relevant work or educational experience that would fit the needs for this particular position. It should also include dates and details of the work performed. Thanks a lot.
